The Minds in Motion for Women Who Rip is an initiative that brings together high-level female collegiate skiers to create meaningful community through shared experiences on the mountain, coupled with exploration of performance optimization through a better understanding of brain science. This workshop will offer tools for translation of a performance mindset from athletics to professional and academic leadership, while fostering inclusive, supportive spaces for growth.
This pilot will serve as a model for future leadership training programs at Telluride Science for a wide range of groups, including young scientists at the start of their careers.

Workshop Facilitator
Dr. Haley Perlus
Sport and Performance Psychologist
At 12 years old, Dr. Haley Perlus turned a coach's bet into a championship-igniting a lifelong passion for the psychology of peak performance. Today, she brings that same competitive edge to Olympic-bound athletes, high-performing teams, and leaders who need to excel under pressure. With a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology and a background as an elite athlete, coach, and fitness professional, her insights blend lived experience with proven science. Haley's work has been sought by organizations including Marriott, Starbucks, NASA, Johnson & Johnson, Deloitte, the U.S. Air Force, Oprah, and ESPN, helping performers at every level strengthen their mental game and rise to the moment.
Head First: Get Your Mind Where You Want Your Body to Go
You can have all the skill, strength, and strategy in the world, but if your head isn’t in the right place, your body won’t follow.

By the end, you’ll have tools to shift from self-doubt to focus, from tense to ready, so your body can do what you’ve trained it to do not just on the skill hill, but everywhere you show up.
The Power of Purpose: Perform Like You Mean It
Every athlete has goals, but purpose goes deeper. We’ll look at how your purpose can guide your choices, protect your energy, and keep you resilient when life gets messy.
